Premium Small Group Daintree & Cape Tribulation Day Tour

Details

Travel to the Famous Daintree Rainforest & Cape Tribulation in small group comfort. Our Specially designed vehicles carry a maximum of 14 passengers - offering unrivaled personalised service. Our tour starts by heading north along the Captain Cook Highway passing through our most Northern beach suburb of Palm Cove to learn the rich history of Double and Haycock Islands and be amazed at the huge melaleuca tree's which are hundreds of years old. From here we will continue our journey north along one of the nicest coastal drives in the world. 28 kilometres of the drive is incorporated within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area, stopping along the way at the Rex lookout for views over the beach and back towards the mountains of the Great Dividing Range. We then travel to the small seaside village of Port Douglas and enjoy a short town tour. Our tour includes a visit to the famous Flagstaff Hill Looking over the famous Four Mile beach for a photo and St Mary’s by The Sea to learn the rich history of this historical church. Our next stop is Mossman Gorge, the southern edge of the Daintree World Heritage area. Here we will enjoy morning tea in the New Mossman Gorge Centre, which includes Tea/Coffee/Cold Drink and damper, accompanied with fresh whipped cream, jam and bush honey. We will then jump on board a shuttle bus accompanied by your Naturalist or Eco/World Heritage accredited guide and head up to the national park for a guided walk in dense tropical rainforest for views over the huge granite boulders and crystal clear waters of the Mossman river, or why don't you have a refreshing swim if the weather and time permits. Heading further north and passing the sugar cane fields of North Queensland, we stop for lunch at the delightful Daintree Tea House for a delicious lunch in a setting unlike any other. The Tea House really is a true find and popular with the locals. After lunch, we’ll join our small and personalised tour on the Daintree River.. If you are lucky enough, you may even spot the elusive crocodile. Continuing north, we begin the slow, winding and picturesque road toward Cape Tribulation. Along the way you’ll see even more wonders of the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park. A stop at the Alexandra Lookout reflects back over the coastal road south (just travelled) and breathtaking views over the Daintree River mouth, Snapper Island and Low Isles (off shore from Port Douglas). We then continue to Cape Tribulation itself (where two World Heritage areas meet – the Rainforest of the Daintree National Park and the Great Barrier Reef). Here, you’ll have the opportunity to take a nice casual stroll on the beach where your guide with teach you the rich history of Captain Cook and take you on a guided walk up to ‘Kulki’ lookout overlooking Mt Disappointment and Mt sorrow. Leaving Cape Tribulation Beach we then venture south back toward The Daintree River, stopping along the way at the  Ice Cream Factory for afternoon tea. Here you will have the opportunity to sample locally made ice cream featuring seasonal fruits of the Tropics (own expense) Shortly after, we arrive at the Daintree River and board the cable ferry to cross this mighty river. Our journey home gives you time to relax and reflect on your day before we drop you back at your accommodation for a good night’s sleep!
